How we rate online casinos

Every casino on Gamgrid is scored across 47 criteria. This page explains exactly what those criteria are, how they're weighted, and how we keep ratings current.

The scoring framework

Each casino receives a score between 0 and 10. That score is a weighted average across seven categories — 47 individual criteria in total. No single criterion can rescue an otherwise poor casino, and none can sink an otherwise strong one. The weighting reflects what matters most once real money is on the table.

Category breakdown

License + regulation — 25%

A license from a recognized regulator is the minimum bar for listing. We track licenses across eight jurisdictions: MGA (Malta), UKGC (United Kingdom), Curaçao eGaming, Gibraltar, Isle of Man, Kahnawake, Alderney, and Sweden (Spelinspektionen). License numbers are cross-checked against regulator registries every month.

Payout speed — 20%

Tested with real accounts. We measure actual time-to-funds across withdrawal methods. Each method is tested independently. We flag operators whose actual payout time consistently exceeds their own advertised window.

Bonus T&C fairness — 20%

Bonuses are evaluated on their actual terms, not their headline numbers. We audit: wagering requirement, maximum bet while using bonus funds, game contribution percentages, bonus expiry time, cashout caps on bonus-derived winnings, and whether the bonus is sticky or non-sticky.

Game variety — 15%

We assess total catalogue size, live dealer coverage, the balance of slots vs table games, software provider diversity, and quality of mobile playability.

Payments — 10%

Range of deposit and withdrawal methods, transaction fees, minimum and maximum limits, currency support, and processing reliability.

Customer support — 6%

Tested with real queries. We measure first-response time across live chat, email, and where offered, phone. We note whether 24/7 coverage is genuine or advertised-only.

Player feedback — 4%

Aggregated complaint resolution rates from public dispute portals and independent player forums. Persistent patterns of unresolved disputes lower the score even when the operator's own metrics appear clean.

How we keep ratings current

Every casino is re-rated on a full 47-criteria pass at least once per quarter. License status is re-checked monthly — a suspension triggers an immediate review within 48 hours. Bonus terms are re-checked whenever a change is reported.
